Before you begin
- An active Event Stream account with access to the area described in this guide.
How Event Stream works
Event Stream creates a controlled event experience around an external YouTube, Vimeo, or approved custom embed. It manages the event, eligible audience, registration, access window, announcements, viewer sessions, and reporting. It does not normally store the underlying video file.
- Organization workspaces keep people and events separated.
- Assignments determine which viewers can discover an event.
- Registration can be required before viewing.
- Schedule, status, device, session, feature, and subscription rules are checked before playback.
- Viewer analytics measure viewing behaviour; they are not attendance records.
Main roles
- Organization Administrator: manages the workspace, settings, roles, and all operational areas.
- Event Manager: manages available event, audience, communication, asset, and analytics workflows.
- Viewer: sees assigned events, registers when required, watches permitted streams, and reads announcements.
- Platform Administrator: manages organizations, plans, subscriptions, features, and usage.
Event lifecycle
- 1Create the event as a draft.
- 2Add schedule, external stream source, registration, and access settings.
- 3Assign viewers or groups.
- 4Move the event to scheduled or live when ready.
- 5Complete the event and make a replay available when permitted.
- 6Review registration and viewing analytics.
Expected result
You can explain where Event Stream sits between organizers, viewers, and the external stream provider.
